IRVING , Texas – March 4, 2008 – Two Irving-based businesses recently received top honors from the Dallas Business Journal as part of the publication’s 16th annual “Best Real Estate Deals of the Year,” which were announced on February 28, 2008.

Research in Motion received the top award for “Best Headquarters or Corporate Campus Move.” The company has leased more than 100,000 square feet in Las Colinas for its first-ever U.S. headquarters, bringing with it the potential for 1,000 new jobs. Maxim Integrated Products received the top award for “Best Industrial Deal – Existing Space.” The company purchased the former Atmel manufacturing facility to help support the expansion of its wafer fabrication facility. Approximately 1,000 new jobs are expected as a result of this deal, which includes a $200 million upgrade to the plant.

Other Irving finalists included TM Advertising, for its innovative swap of office space with TXU Energy, and Avelo Mortgage LLC, for its relocation to Las Colinas.
