Belton EDC Executive Director Joining Austin Development Firm
Carol Mills, the Executive Director of the Belton Economic Development Corporation announced today that she has submitted her notice of resignation to the Belton EDC and has accepted a position with Austin based First Advisors, Inc., a real estate development and investment firm with ongoing projects in Central Texas. Ms. Mills has been with the Belton EDC since December 2005, having previously worked as Executive Director and in other capacities with the Copperas Cove EDC from 1996 to 2005. She also previously held positions with the Killeen Chamber of Commerce, the Killeen Convention and Visitors Bureau and the late Congressman Marvin Leath’s Waco district office. Ms. Mills has been active in the public sector and the promotion of economic development efforts in Central Texas for over twenty years, serving on numerous boards and committees in the area.
“My work with First Advisors will be focused on development projects in a number of cities in Central Texas. I am excited about the broad possibilities I will be afforded by working in the private sector”, according to Ms. Mills.
Mr. Davis said, “We are very pleased that Carol has accepted our offer and will be assisting us as we continue our development activities in Central Texas. Davis formed First Advisors, headquartered in Austin, in 1996. The company currently sponsors retail; residential and commercial land investments in Brownwood, Stephenville, Gatesville, Copperas Cove and Killeen. During his 34-year business career, Davis has been involved in real estate developments in 25 cities in Texas and has long standing business and political ties to the Central Texas area. He and Ms. Mills are natives of Gatesville. Ms. Mills resides in Belton and Mr. Davis resides in Austin.
